FAQ

Who the hell are you to tell me how to swap my coins?

In general, I am a nobody. Just an ordinary internet user who likes cryptocurrencies and sometimes needs to exchange them. I’ve always wondered where and how to swap them, so I created a list on GitHub for my own convenience. Now I have built this website based on a table from GitHub. If my page and my opinions annoy you, you can always hit the x button for this browser tab or even for the whole browser. If you just want to know more about me, have a look at my blog 0ut3r.space and my other projects listed there.

What’s with the weird arrow at the end of some links?

This tells you that it is a link to an external site. By clicking on the links without this arrow, you know you are navigating on my site, by clicking on the ones with the odd arrow, you are leaving Swap Cab.

Why reviews are moderated?

Because the internet is a dumpster, full of bots, robots, fools, scammers and anything that works without registration or verification is a swamp. I hope only people who use crypto and want to share their experiences will use this reviews. Maybe that’s shallow thinking, but less shit to sift through.

How do I report an error in the description, on the page, or a new service that may have been added to the list?

Write me a cool email. This is my pgp key, if you have my pgp key, you can find out what email I have. By the way, if you want, you can encrypt the message. If you want me to encrypt the reply, don’t forget to include your public key. Best time for learning how to use PGP! You can also catch me on Mastodon.

I have added a service review and it has not been published?

I rarely restrict people’s ability to express themselves, if I do it means your review was crap. This must be constructive feedback, in full sentences, with examples of what you did, whether you contacted support, what you liked, what worked, how it worked, whether it worked, what didn’t work. Good feedback doesn’t have to be so elaborate, you know it works, I give 5 stars and say cool. That’s fine, but maybe you will try add something more. It is more difficult with bad reviews related to problems. It’s actually the most important reviews that need to be given some time. Write with examples, avoid emotion, even if you’re very annoyed. Show that your bad opinion about a particular service makes sense. And remember, it’s an opinion for other users. Good and bad reviews help other users to choose a good service.

Why you give affiliate links? That’s what losers do. Why not clean links?

Well, I like money. I have earned a lot from referrals elsewhere and this is one of my sources of income. It keeps the site from being cluttered with advertising and gives me time to come up with new ideas and implement them, like this site. You can always be smarter than that and, after selecting a particular service, type the address into your browser yourself or copy it by cutting out the referral part. Then you won’t let me make money! You have won.

How can I be sure that a particular service will not cheat me?

How would I put it? You don’t have any certainty. Just read the reviews on other sites, that’s what I’m giving you, where you can read about a particular service, so you can see if anything strange is going on around the service you were going to choose before you transfer your cryptocurrency. If you don’t trust anyone, that’s great, do your own research, transfer a smaller amount before you make a main transfer, so that you won’t regret it if it gets lost. Services work one day and disappear the next, along with users’ money. Make sure everything is OK before you transfer money. Start over each time.

What does KYC mean?

Know Your Customer (KYC) guidelines and regulations in financial services require professionals to verify the identity, suitability, and risks involved with maintaining a business relationship with a customer. The procedures fit within the broader scope of anti-money laundering (AML) and counter terrorism financing (CTF) regulations. Additional info on KYC/AML page.

What does AML mean?

Anti-Money Laundering (AML) refers to a set of policies and practices to ensure that financial institutions and other regulated entities prevent, detect, and report financial crime and especially money laundering activities. Anti-Money Laundering is often paired with the action against terrorism financing, or Combating the Financing of Terrorism, using the acronym AML-CFT (sometimes AML/CFT or AMLCFT). In addition arrangements intended to ensure that banks and other relevant firms duly report suspicious transactions (also known as AML supervision), the AML policy framework includes financial intelligence units and relevant law enforcement operations. Additional info on KYC/AML page.

What does P2P mean?

P2P means Peer-to-peer. This is where users exchange crypto with each other. There is no automatic exchange with the service provider.

How to make sure that swap I want to use is safe?

Always check reviews on TrustPilot, BitcoinTalk forum or Reddit before using any of the coin exchange services listed below. If there are no reviews, try to get some opinions on Google or Bing or DuckDuck to make sure that the listed service has not become a scam in the meantime or that some details have not changed in the meantime. I verify all services listed here by doing a coin swap at least once to check if it works. If you see any errors, have additional information or have found a new service and want to verify it, feel free to submit it and I will update the list. Each listing below has a subpage where you can leave a review (that’s the plan, in progress). Once you have chosen one, read their terms and conditions and privacy policy.

What if I lost money on one of sites listed by you?

I’m sorry, but that means you haven’t done your research or you were unlucky. I do my best to ensure that all the sites listed here are up to date, legal and operational. Unfortunately, some services can shut down overnight or run a scam from day to day (especially the more anonymous ones or located in Tor only). On each page before the listings, I give tips on how to check whether a link is currently a good service. Either you didn’t check or you were unlucky enough to be the first victim. Then share your experience with others so that other users can protect themselves from being scammed.

Is it safe to invest in and operate cryptocurrencies?

I asked the Chat GPT about this and here is the answer, I fully agree:

Investing in and operating cryptocurrencies involves certain risks, and safety can depend on various factors such as regulatory environment, security measures, and market volatility. Here are some key considerations:

Volatility: Cryptocurrency prices can be highly volatile, leading to significant fluctuations in value over short periods. This can result in substantial gains or losses for investors.

Security: The security of cryptocurrencies and related platforms is crucial. While blockchain technology itself is secure, exchanges, wallets, and other infrastructure can be vulnerable to hacking and fraud. It’s essential to use reputable exchanges and secure wallets and employ best security practices, such as two-factor authentication and keeping private keys offline.

Regulatory Environment: Regulations surrounding cryptocurrencies vary by country and can impact their legality, taxation, and use. Changes in regulation can affect the value and operation of cryptocurrencies, so it’s important to stay informed about regulatory developments.

Scams and Fraud: The cryptocurrency space has seen its share of scams, Ponzi schemes, and fraudulent projects. Investors should exercise caution and conduct thorough research before investing in any cryptocurrency or participating in initial coin offerings (ICOs) or token sales.

Long-Term Viability: While some cryptocurrencies have gained widespread adoption and support, others may fail to gain traction or become obsolete over time. Assessing the long-term viability of a cryptocurrency requires evaluating factors such as its technology, use case, development team, and community support.

Diversification: As with any investment, diversification can help mitigate risk. Rather than putting all your funds into a single cryptocurrency, consider spreading your investment across multiple assets to reduce exposure to any one project’s specific risks.

In summary, investing in and operating cryptocurrencies can potentially offer opportunities for profit, but it’s essential to approach it with caution and awareness of the associated risks. Conduct thorough research, employ robust security measures, stay informed about regulatory developments, and consider diversifying your investment portfolio.

Will you be adding a dark theme for the site?

All my pages are dark, I’ve always wanted one light, so I won’t add. Sorry.

I like your website and would like to support you, how can I do that?

That’s great, thank you, check out the Contribute page for more details.

What are the rules of the Swap Cab?
